All registered Limestone students are now eligible to ride for free on Kingston Transit thanks to an expanded partnership with the City of Kingston.
Grade 9 to 12 students enrolled in Limestone schools are eligible for a free Kingston Transit Pass to encourage them to ride the bus to access recreational programs, volunteer opportunities, jobs or school programs through a partnership with the City of Kingston. The free bus passes were first offered to Grade 9 students in 2012-2013 and has since been expanded to include both Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 students. The City recently extended its free transit pass program to include intermediate students (Grade 7 & 8). The City already allows for children age 12 and under to ride for free with an adult.
Children age 14 and under (Kindergarten to Grade 8):
Children age 14 and under can travel with Kingston Transit free of charge. Children 14 and under do not require a bus pass, identification or to travel with an adult. Children 14 and under are to advise the bus operator of their age prior to boarding.
