Attention LESAA school contact

Please submit a vote by December 23, 2016 for one of the 2 options described below. We will tally the results over the holidays and release the results by January 4, 2017. If the new proposal goes ahead, then teams will be expected to declare for either competitive or recreational by January 20, 2017.

(Note: Boys' and girls' teams at an individual school do not both need to be in the same division. eg. Girls' team could be competitive and while the boys' team is recreational)

Option 1- Maintain current system of divisions

Option 2- New system (as proposed below- note- there has been a minor amendment to the original proposal with the thought that there may possibly be 3 competitive divisions instead of 2.)

Our proposal is that we offer the option of both competitive and recreational tournaments.

The recreational tournaments will involve equal playing time shifts, no championship play, and an equal number of games at district events. Recreational divisions/pools will be sorted by intermediate population.

The competitive divisions will be sorted by intermediate population into either Group A, B or C. (# of competitive groups will depend on interest) Schools that opt for the competitive division will not have the opportunity to lobby for changing into an “easier” pool.

Thanks to all the coaches who attended the meeting Tuesday night. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
