Dear Families,

Given we have reached the end of this school year for students, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your support and partnership over the past school year.

While every school year comes with different challenges, I hope this year has been one of learning and growth. Congratulations to all our intermediate and secondary graduates across Limestone. I hope students and families have enjoyed the graduation and year-end celebrations over the past couple of weeks.

The Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, has shared a video message for graduates, and Minister of Education Todd Smith has shared a video message for students and families, congratulating students across Ontario on a successful year.

A couple of reminders for families as we move into the summer break:

• If your student currently has school bus transportation and there is no change to their school or address in September, families do not need to take any action nor reapply for transportation through Tri-Board Student Transportation. Current school bus transportation will remain in place unless they are contacted directly by Tri-Board. However, if your student is attending school for the first time in 2024-2025, is changing schools, or needs to change school bus pick-up/drop-off locations, then families will need to apply for transportation by August 11, 2024, to ensure that transportation is in place for the first day of school in September. • In September 2024, more information about Policy/Program 128: The Provincial Code of Conduct and School Boards Code of Conduct will become available and will be shared with families, including the adjusted Board policies regarding cell phone usage, vaping on school property, and strengthened enforcement. Limestone will continue to work with KFL&A Public Health to share more information related to the mental health impacts of excessive use of social media applications and the physical health implications of vaping.

May the summer break bring you rest, rejuvenation, and cherished memories with loved ones. And as we look ahead to the next chapter in the 2024-25 school year, I hope we all can continue to foster a love for learning, curiosity, and compassion.

Thank you for being an integral part of the Limestone education community. Students are best served when we work collaboratively to support their learning and well-being. Your support makes a tremendous difference, and I am excited for the adventures that await our school communities in the coming year.
